Pioneer High Hosts International Week

Pioneer High School students celebrated International Week during the last week of October with a host of events, from a decorative altar and face painting to teacher heritage boards and cultural performances.

The festivities, taking place from Oct. 28 to Nov. 1, kicked off with a performance from the PHS Dance Company. Other activities included face painting, a game of Loteria, a Paso de Oro dance performance, Norteño band performance, Halloween costumes and heritage tables hosted by nearly 30 teachers who discussed their cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Students in Spanish classes also created a Dia de los Muertos altar in the school's Media Center and Library.

Club Literario also sponsored a food festival.
