Sexual Harassment Policy/Política Sobre el Acoso Sexual
SEXUAL HARASSMENT POLICY
The Whittier Union High School District is committed to providing a working and learning environment free from sexual harassment. The District prohibits sexual harassment of or by employees, students, or persons doing business with or for the District on the basis of actual or perceived sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or gender expression. Failure to follow this policy is a violation of state and federal law.
Sexual harassment is defined by California Education code 212.5 as any unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors and other verbal, visual, or physical conduct or communications of a sexual nature made by someone from or in the work or educational setting, under any of the following conditions:
Submission to the conduct is explicitly or implicitly made a term or a condition of an individual’s employment, academic status, or progress.
Submission to, or rejection of, the conduct by the individual is used as the basis of employment or academic decision affecting the individual.
The conduct has the purpose or effect of having a negative impact upon the individual’s work or academic performance, or of creating an intimidating hostile, or offensive work or educational environment.
Submission to, or rejection of, the conduct by the individual is used as the basis for any decision affecting the individual regarding benefits and services, honors, programs, or activities available at or through the educational institution.
This nondiscrimination policy applies to all acts related to school activity or school attendance within any school or office under the jurisdiction of the Superintendent of the Whittier Union High School District.
A copy of this policy shall be displayed in a prominent location in the administrative offices of the District and all other areas where notices regarding standards of conduct are posted.
Any student or employee of the District who believes that she or he has been a victim of sexual harassment should bring the problem to the attention of the school-site administrator, or the school’s Title IX Complaint Coordinator so that appropriate action may be taken to resolve the problem.

POLITICA SOBRE EL ACOSO SEXUAL
El Distrito de Escuelas Secundarias de Whittier está comprometido a mantener un ambiente educativo y de trabajo libre acoso sexual. El Distrito prohíbe el acoso sexual de o por empleados, estudiantes o personas que hacen negocios con o para el Distrito sobre la base de sexo real o percibido, orientación sexual, género, identidad de género o expresión de género. El incumplimiento de esta política es una violación de la ley estatal y federal.
El acoso sexual es definido por el Código de Educación de California 212.5 como cualquier avance sexual no deseado, solicitudes de favores sexuales y cualquier otra conducta verbal, visual o física o comunicaciones de naturaleza sexual hecha por alguien de o en el trabajo o educacional, bajo cualquiera de las siguientes condiciones:
La sumisión a la conducta se hace explícita o implícitamente un término o condición del empleo de un individuo, estado académico, o progreso.
La sumisión a, o rechazo de la conducta por el individuo se usa como base de la decisión de empleo o académicas que afectan al individuo.
La conducta tiene el propósito o efecto de tener un impacto negativo en el trabajo de la persona o el rendimiento académico, o de crear un entorno intimidatorio hostil, o el trabajo ofensivo o ambiente educativo.
La sumisión o rechazo de la conducta por el individuo se usa como base para cualquier decisión que afecte al individuo en cuanto a beneficios y servicios, honores, programas o actividades disponibles en oa través de la institución educativa.
Esta política de no discriminación se aplica a todos los actos relacionados con la actividad escolar o asistencia escolar dentro de cualquier escuela o la oficina bajo la jurisdicción del Superintendente del Distrito de Escuelas Secundarias de Whittier.
Una copia de esta política será representada en un lugar prominente en las oficinas administrativas del Distrito y todas las demás áreas en las que se publican avisos con respecto a las normas de conducta.
